Woodbridge Vet Wellness Examinations
Keep Your Animal Companions Healthy for Years to Come
Your pet’s annual wellness exam is important for their long-term health. This is a comprehensive physical exam that assesses your pet’s overall health and wellness. It also includes diagnostic services to ensure your friend isn’t in the early stages of common health problems.
Wellness exams are important at all stages of a pet’s life. They are recommended at least once a year, but younger and senior pets may need additional examinations in six months. If your pet seems healthy and happy, they still need a wellness exam! We need to be sure that they’re maintaining a healthy weight and getting enough exercise. Your pet will also need an update on their vaccinations.
When was the last time your pet received a wellness exam? Contact Ridge Lake Animal Hospital today to schedule an appointment.
What Does the Wellness Exam Include?
Exams vary depending on the age, species, and health needs of the patient. It is our job to look your pet over for any signs of illness, injury, or disease. These symptoms can be subtle in animals and it’s not always easy to tell when your friend is dealing with a health issue. That’s where our team comes in.
Our physical exams include a head-to-tail assessment where we:
- Check body weight and temperature
- Look at the eyes, ears, and nose
- Check the lymph nodes
- Look in the mouth to assess the health of the teeth and gums
- Evaluate the heart and lungs
- Feel the abdomen to check the internal organs including the kidneys and liver
- Evaluate the muscles, spine, and joints
After the examination, we carefully document our findings and give you our recommendations for any health problems we find.
