Dr. Kusterbeck has always enjoyed the company of animals, developing a close bond with them at a young age. Dr. Kusterbeck grew up in the Washington, D.C. area. As a teenager, he lost a beloved family dog due to an acute illness, an event that motivated him to pursue a career combining his passion for science with his love of animal care. After graduating with a Bachelor’s of Science from the College of William and Mary in Williamsburg, Virginia, Dr. Kusterbeck went to the University of Georgia’s College of Veterinary Medicine, earning his veterinary degree in 1982. He moved with his wife Anne to northern Virginia to begin his veterinary career. His passion for veterinary medicine and love of animals has led him to his current position where he serves clients daily as Owner and Medical Co-Director of Ridge Lake Animal Hospital.
